REMEMBER
.
Remember the day
Remember the sky of blue
Remember the disbelief
Remember what was tall, became so small
Remember where you were when the plumes filled the air
Remember the yells
Remember the smells
Remember the tears
Remember the victims, the chattering class says
But, it’s easy to say a few words about this upcoming day
Reverence should replace remembrance
For actions speak louder than a sorrowful swath of words
Actions are for those who have had to plead for what they deserved all along
Dust of death trapped in the lungs of the lionhearted souls
Caustic cough of carnage has become their rusted reward
Remember the heroes and pat them on the back
It’s gotta be more than just a photo op once a year
And, to think when the decade anniversary comes around
People who’ve been allergic to NYC come to town
Flags will wave and the solemn ceremony will take place
Cameras will get the perfect shot of tears rolling down a sad face
Remember those who were lost on a day in September
Not for the politicos who grab bullhorns and boast
Not for the media, who rides misery into the ground
Remember September 11th, because we all changed that day
Trio of locations where tragedy flowed, shall forever remain a engraved upon our souls
Remember that within a decade’s timeline, a switch can take place
Transformation from solidarity’s sympathy, can easily pass through a reflected maze into a hornet’s nest of hubris
Remember the past
Remember the present
Future is shaped by us all

A.H. Scott: A healthy social life is found only, when in the mirror of each soul the whole community finds its reflection, and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living.”-

Suzaan Talib: I am from yesterday on German TV, and see all the DOKU from 911. I am so sad…for NEW YORK and the PEOPLE…I feel sooo sorry….
