• Aradia Ardor: Mr. Ward and I – Part 4

    Aradia With Leopard Gloves

……….Aradia arrived at my door, like so many other models these days, via Facebook. Who would of thought just a few years ago, photographers and models alike would start initiating erotic photo shoots by using social media networks. Not even Mark Zuckerberg himself could have imagined that scenario, although it is clear he had an erotic intention in mind when he started the ever expanding communications behemoth. Zuckerberg’s original motivation was to develop a file-sharing program of the hottest women on campus at Harvard University in 2004, where the initial interest in his genius rapidly spread. Clearly, the world is now his oyster. There is currently an estimated 500,000,000 Facebook users worldwide.

    .

Ms. Ardor became a fan of my work after she was introduced to the early black and white pictures of the mid-nineties – on the walls of her former boyfriends apartment in Los Angeles. After the initial friend request, I realized after looking at a few of her pictures – a talented fetish model, who garners high praise amongst an elite pool of LA based fetish photographers: the image world she’s chosen to be pictured and revealed. So it came as no surprise, when we met, it would be just a matter of a short drive from the train station to the hotel, before we would blend, merge and converge our erotic thoughts in to the creation of this set of pictures to share with our readers.

Finishing our shoot, we headed back to where our encountered started, the train station. After saying our goodbyes, I headed to the wooden benches. Settling, into my space, I felt at ease with how the photo shoot went and look forward to the images for all to enjoy. Thank you Mr. Ward for the experience.

……….The blue sky filled the ceiling to floor window in the room. White, fluffy linen lined the bed as mahogany wood filled the space. Outfits laid out on the desk, we went straight into shooting. One thing I enjoy about nude modeling is the energy exchange and connection you experience with the photographer. You have to tap into your raw, sexual being and physically express. The images that are captured are portals into a brief period of time to illicit a response to the voyeur. Shooting with Mr. Ward was an experience filled with ease,
and not every photographer is able to create such an environment. Nude modeling exposes your essence of being, and to be able to do such, you need a photographer who understands that component.

With a gentle hug and quick meet and greet, we headed out to a warm, sun filled day. Providing me my own personal tour, Mr. Ward showed me the beauty of Center City and South Philly . I visually enjoyed the diversity and my senses filled with an appreciation of the historic town. Our tour quickly ended, as we arrived at the Make-Up Artist and Hairstylist location. Rocking red hair, Kaitlin Kennedy pinned, primped and captured the retro style of the 40’ and 50’s. Our conversation was entertaining, as it turns out Kaitlin’s father (Wally Kennedy) had interviewed Mr. Ward on a local television show years before. She continued to tell me how her tattoo artist introduced her to her make-up mentor. Ironically, her mentor also worked with Mr. Ward on the same show and on other shoots. For being a large city, I was surprised to find how lives seemed to connect to Mr. Ward.

With hair and make-up ready, TW and I headed to our shoot destination in New Jersey. Walking through the parking lot at our destination, we saw a couple having their wedding photos taken. Being a sneaky devil, Tony decided to take a picture of the photographer capturing the happy couple. Ironically, he knew the photographer! Forget Six Degrees of Separation with Kevin Bacon, it should be called Two Degrees of Separation with Tony Ward!

……….Stepping off unto the platform at the Philadelphia train station, I headed up the stairs to find Mr. Ward. Looking similar to his photos, I found him sitting on the old wooden benches that line the station. In a tight blue exercise tank top, shorts and flip flops, he did not bring forth the East Coast style that I was exposed to in Washington, D.C.. You have to understand, I have never been to Philly, let alone the East Coast. Being a West Coast native, I spent the past week in DC being exposed to suits and folks that stepped out of a J-Crew catalog. It was refreshing to see someone who is comfortable in his own skin and let his presence express himself, and not his clothes.

    .

……….As I waited for Aradia’s train to arrive at 30th street station in Philadelphia, I remembered a series of fashion photographs I produced at the grand railway station in the early nineties. That period marked the beginning of my exploration of Erotica and Photography. The quality of light, the voluminous breathtaking structure, and the hustle and bustle of humanity – provided a visually rich backdrop for the concept I had in mind. I began to imagine photographing Aradia at the station as soon as she arrived; but since she would be modeling lingerie, a private place was a more suitable option.

    .

I took a seat in clear view of the large arrivals monitor in nervous anticipation of our meeting. Eros started to flow and visual fantasies erupted with vague sketches on how to photograph the subject. This natural process of visualizing the pictures – just a few hours before an erotic shoot – is a common occurrence, unique to an encounter between two individuals that involves pictures, passion and trust.

    .
Directing Ms. Ardor, to actualize the images that just a few hours earlier were pure fantasies proved to be a visually rich, engaging experience, as you will see this month! This is the benefit of working with a great model, powerful, confident woman, and sensual being. In some ways, I felt privileged, more like an ambassador than a photographer, as she informed this would be her first trip to Philadelphia and the Eastern part of the United States. We are the City of Brotherly Love.

    .

The first shot, with the moon and hood, is by Studio CMC, Chris Carroll, in Bear, Delaware. We are both into fantasy and Lord of the Rings, etc, and thatis what inspired this picture. We both wanted a shot with that mystical feel. I’ve always been into swords and Xena my whole life, so that surely inspired the image of portraying a bad ass: strong woman that could defend herself.

    .

    David K. Eisenhauer

    .

As for the bright shot, that was created with DKE Photography, David K Eisenhauer in Royersford, PA. The art work was inspired by my passion for Pirates. Again, I love swords and weapons; and they go hand in hand with pirates. So in this photo I was trying to be a pirate chick ready to fight!

    .

I did these shots specifically with these two photographers because of their style of photography. Chris Carroll is a genius with Fantasy and Nude Glamour and David K Eisenhauer – just has his own unique style from any other photographers you see out there today.

    Hello Mr. Ward!!

    .

………. My name is Ivy Jo, and I was talking to Joseph Lentini about my modeling and he mentioned TWS. So i thought I would take the time to contact you – to see if you would possibly be interested in working with me on a photo shoot, or if you are working on any projects at the moment?? I’d love to get a chance to work with you!

    .

My interest for modeling started a long time ago, I just wasn’t aware of it. I love and have always loved going to the theater and watching the performers in their awesome outfits, and their songs and dances. I have always loved looking through magazines at the women all dressed up and made up gorgeous. I’ve always had a passion for clothes, shoes, accessories, and of course hair and make up.

    .

However, In 2009, my great aunt Barbara Steadman passed away. I went to help my mom with dealing with her death, and going threw her things. In doing so, I learned that my great aunt Barbara was in VOGUE in the 50′s and modeled her whole life until she became a child illustrator. As I went threw my aunts portfolio, I realized that if someone in my family had already done this, then I definitely could too. Why didn’t I earlier?

I love the idea of how a camera makes a picture and can preserve what time can’t. A photo keeps your youth, looks and even the emotion of that day and time – and lets you see it day after day. After all of this reflection, I went online, found some photographers interested in working with me, so I put myself out there into the industry of modeling.
