FLEETING TIME, STATIC MOMENT
.
I use my camera to capture moments. When memories fade, photographs can help us remember those scenes. Although images are frozen in movement and flat in surface, they can still be emotional and narrative.
Instead of paying much attention to the composition in each of the images that I took, I focused more on light and shadow and played with it even though composition is undeniably important. It is interesting to see how the light and shadow can change and affect the representation of each subject. For example, when there is light, the image has more contrast and contains three tones: white, grey and black. I want to use those differentiated tones to create a mood so that people will remember and reflect upon it. Moreover, I want them to feel that there are emotions and stories in my pictures rather than just plain photos.
