EARRINGS

.

In this series of photographs, I chose to photograph accessories, mainly earrings, as my object. I always connect women with jewelry and I picked the same model that I chose for a previous fashion shoot. I think jewelry adds a sense of elegance to women and I want to convey that feeling through these photographs.

I did not use flash in any of my shots and only used ambient light. I shot at ISO1600 because the light was not bright and I did not want a blurry image. For the setting, I chose to shoot in my model’s apartment, mainly in the bathroom and in her bedroom. I edited the majority of the photos in a yellowish color tone to match my opinion towards my model. I think that this color tone fits well with my model’s overall disposition. I want my color editing to create a feeling that she is elegant but has a sense of distance as if she is always and prefers to be alone and is hard to get close to.

Although the mixture of my model’s disposition and my creation of the overall atmosphere of the photographs now becomes still flat images, the beauty and the grace that those photographs contain are mobile and eternal. When all fade away, the feeling is what matters the most.
